Russia looks to step up security cooperation with Singapore

Continuing with Russia’s outreach in the ASEAN region, Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev will hold talks on regional and international security with Singapore’s top brass, Sputnik News reported.

Patrushev will also visit Vietnam on his 2-day Southeast Asian trip.

The former head of the Russian Federal Security Service visited Thailand and Indonesia in February for talks on security cooperation.

Russia and ASEAN are likely to draft a security cooperation agreement when they hold their 20th anniversary summit in Sochi in May.
