Tver Region

Tver was founded in the 12th century and even fought to become the capital of Ancient Rus’. Those who travel between the two capitals always stop in Tver (for recreation, Catherine II even built a travel palace - which now houses an art gallery).

There are many attractions in Tver Region: the Rzhev Soldier Memorial, Shirkov Pogost, which is called ‘Tver Kizhi’, Klin, Vyshny Volochek and the stunning Lake Seliger. Of course, do not miss the city of Torzhok! There, you should certainly try some Pozharsky cutlets and simply enjoy the beautiful temples and antiquity.
