Chara Sands

Zabaykalsky (Krai)

Zabaykalsky (Krai)

The name of the region immediately betrays its geographical position - it is located beyond Baikal or, rather, to the east of it and borders on Buryatia. The capital is Chita.

Aginsky steppes, Chara Sands, the Argun River and the Daur mountain reserve - what unexpected natural beauty awaits tourists in Zabaykalsky Krai!

The region is also a major Buddhist center, containing several monastery complexes, including the Chita and Tsugolsky datsans.

Recently, famous local-born artist and sculptor Dashi Namdakov opened the ‘Tuzhi Land Art Park’ in his native village of Ukurik.
