Dagestan (Republic)

The most multinational region of our country is the Republic of Dagestan. As many as 14 different languages have official status there, with twice as many different peoples. 

For the traveler, there are many interesting things to find: there are the picturesque mountain views, the warm Caspian Sea with its “wild” beaches, ancient fortresses and abandoned mountain settlements in the gorges. The main places of interest are the ancient city of Derbent, founded in the 5th century, the abandoned village of Gamsutl, the Sulak canyon and the tropical liana forest in the delta of the Samur river.
