One of Kamchatka's volcanoes

Kamchatka (Krai)

Kamchatka (Krai)

Kamchatka has so many amazing natural treasures! It is home to the unique ‘Valley of Geysers’, volcanoes (29 active and about three hundred dormant) and the Kuril Lake - the most “bearish” place in Russia, where hungry brown animals flock to hunt sockeye salmon.

Kamchatka is a paradise for fans of extreme sports, because here you can ski or snowboard on eternally fresh snow. And besides, you can go surfing, including winter surfing, on the waves of the Pacific Ocean.

Its capital Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is the oldest city in the Russian Far East. The territory of Kamchatka Krai covers not only the Kamchatka Peninsula, but also the Karaginsky and Komandorsky islands, which are home to rare species of animals and birds.
